- Kon Tiki (Norway, action, adventure, biography) The story of legendary explorer Thor Heyerdal's epic 4,330 mile crossing of the Pacific on a balsa-wood raft in 1947 to show that South Americans could settle Polynesia in pre-Columbian times by using only a sextant to plot course, no motor, no back-up plan, no surveillance monitoring. Beautiful photography.
